If Smalltalk is dead - why is it my most read post?

Somehow I topped 2gb of traffic on the blog this month so I went in search of my stats, unfortunately I found nothing which highlighted any untoward usage, but I did find that my most read blog post is for that dead language Smalltalk:

Small talk - big stats

If Smalltalk is dead, why is it so popular?

You got the most read post because the website is small and this small number is highly interested in smalltalk. Go place your post on a website with a large user base like codeproject or codeplex or sourceforge and find out how few post-read you get. Its just not wise for Software Engineers today to learn smalltalk unless they want a niche market and do not mind having a hard time finding a new job if the current is lost and traveling hundreds if not thousands of mile for the new job.

Hi Mark. I don't think of Smalltalk as dead, but I'm interested in the particular post--you're mentioning Dolphin and usenet. I gather there are a lot of people still trying to get at Usenet without using standard clients for some reason.

Because it's not dead. See my blog entries, including my post about why this is the Year Of Smalltalk - http://methodsandmessages.vox.com/library/post/the-year-of-smalltalk.html
